About the role
Due to continuous growth of our firm, a new opportunity exists for a Paralegal to join the high performing Commercial Litigation & Insolvency Team. In this role you will support the busy team of lawyers and gain exposure to a range of different matters including complex litigation, personal and corporate insolvency, property transactions, employment law matters, and ASIC investigations/white collar crime matters. Your day to day will involve:
- Taking instructions from solicitors and communicating effectively
- Drafting legal documents such as pleadings and affidavits
- Drafting correspondence to clients or the opposing side
- Undertaking legal research
- Settlement negotiations
- Preparation for court appearances and hearings, including preparation of evidence
- Diary and task management
- Client reporting and management
About You
Prior experience and “know how” in a similar role would be advantageous but not essential, as training and support will be provided. We’re looking for someone who is confident working autonomously and has a strong ability to prioritise tasks while working in a fast paced and varied environment. A successful candidate will:
- Have a positive “can-do attitude”
- Be an excellent communicator (grammar and writing skills)
- Outstanding attention to detail
- Exceptional time management and organisational skills
- Be available to work at least 4 days a week
